Elizabeth Niemeyer
Often I find myself creating scenes that are slightly abstracted or atmospheric. My working process starts by painting from free association, applying colors that fit my mood and letting a form grow from the marks I've made. Growing up in the midwest surrounded by farms and fields is something that facilitates the scenery that is found in my work.

Elizabeth Niemeyer graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in studio art. She moved to Raleigh at the beginning of 2009 and has a studio space at the Bonded Llama studio collective. She is the director of the Morning Times Gallery and coordinates the Morning Times Market, a monthly outdoor art market on Hargett Street during the warm months.
